Pandaren Fishing Spear

This spear spawns directly behind the Pandaren Uncle Deming, on the central south beach in Krasarang Wilds.

As with the other lootable treasures, make sure you're not attacked, and keep an empty bag slot, and finally, don't move while you loot it! You can see it once per character, once it has been looted, successfully or not, it will despawn. However, you can loot it again on other characters, so you can have more than one in your possession.

Zandalari Warbringers

Ah, the new rares that came with patch 5.2... Seeing as I haven't done much apart from chasing these guys, I thought it's time for a post!

Zandalari Warbringers spawn in 5 continents in Pandaria. They have set spawn areas, and their respawn timer is fairly close, around 30 to 55 minutes. Expect to kill all, and by the time you killed the last one, you can already go back to the first spot where you started.

General area of the spawn locations

However, also expect a lot of competition! The Zandalari Warbringers drop not only satchels of spoils (small and large ones), which are the exact same that can drop from the regular rare champions in Pandaria, but they also drop insignias that are bind on account, and that give you 1000 rep with one of four Pandaria factions. With the guild perk and the commendations that you can obtain at revered from these factions, you can get 2200 rep on any alt, any level per insignia! That's the end of dailies as we know it. Factions include August Celestials, Shado-Pan, Golden Lotus and Klaxxi.

Warbringer in Jade Forest (Amber direhorn mount)

And lastly, the warbringers drop: a shiny direhorn mount! There are three colours available, and they always match the colour of the mount that the warbringer spawns on. I am still hoping for a Primal Jade Direhorn to drop.

Warbringer in Kun-Lai (Amber direhorn mount)

The warbringers used to be soloable by many classes, but due to a lot of griefing, Blizzard has decided to make them immune to interrupts, roots, snares, taunts and gripping. If you happen to be a blood dk, you can disregard this change, for everyone else, grab yourself a trusty friend or guildie, before you take on these guys.

Zandalari Warbringer List of Spells:

Each warbringer has 4 spells at random out of 5 possible choices. You absolutely need to know what these spells do, so you can react accordingly.

  • Horrific Visage:  This used to be a priority for interrupting, as it fears the target that has aggro for 8 seconds! Either ride it out, or use a trinket that can break fear. It can't be interrupted currently.
  • Thunder Crush: Move out of the frontal cone. You can see a dark area on the ground before you get hit by it, but you have to be fast.
  • Vengeful Spirit:  Don't let the spirit get near you, or anything that is attacking the warbringer. It hits very hard. Entangling Roots for druids is perfect for keeping the spirit at bay, slows work too, just keep a distance between it and yourself. It despawns after 20 seconds.
  • Scarab Swarm: Just aoe the scarabs down.
  • Meteor Shower:It helps if you move your camera so you see the area from above. They do damage when they land near you, but they usually fly quite far. They stay above the warbringer so you can't kite it away from the meteors.

    Zandalari Warscouts

The warscouts that spawn along the warbringers are still very soloable, and provide some good training for tackling the warbringers. They each have 3 abilities of the 5 mentioned above, and drop the satchels as well as an insignia. They patrol around the general spawn area.

As some might remember, I had posted a recruitment post for the raiding community I've been part of for a very long time, looking for more people wanting to raid on my server.
Sadly, the community couldn't sustain itself with people leaving and no people to find, and so some of us have taken the decision to break off and create a ten man guild.

We currently have 8 solid people from our community, which was 5/12 25man Throne of Thunder before closing its doors. However, this is not enough, and we would welcome both social players and those that want to take up raiding with us.

    Introduction

Our guild <Selesnya Conclave>  is a new 10 man raiding guild started by 6 members of a former mature softcore 25 man raiding community with a long and successful background of raiding progress and achievements. We are dedicated players with extensive (heroic) raiding experience. We are an alliance guild and reside on Steamwheedle Cartel EU.

Our goal has always been to maintain a friendly raiding atmosphere, raiding only three nights a week, but packing quality instead of quantity. We don't aim for server firsts, but we expect to progress in current heroic content.

    Our raid times

Our raid days and times are:
    • Monday - 20:00 - 23:30
    • Tuesday - 20:00 - 23:30
    • Thursday - 20:00 - 23:30

Being new, our team is not yet complete these days and raid times are subject to change slightly so they best fit our team. However, we expect our raiders to be able to attend at least 2 of the raiding nights.

    Current progress

We have experience with 5/12 in Throne of Thunder (achieved by the founders in the previous 25 man raiding group). As a new guild, we have killed 2/12 on our first raid to ToT.
    WoW Progress link:  http://www.wowprogress.com/guild/eu/steamwheedle-cartel/Selesnya+Conclave

    What are we looking for?

The first thing we look in our trial players is that they fit socially in our guild and even though we don't have a strict rule about age, we prefer people to be over 18 years of age. We also expect applicants to have a good knowledge about their class and role and we encourage our raiders to visit forums and other sources of information regarding their spec.

What we have to offer is a friendly raiding atmosphere, steady progress and a welcoming guild. We are also female friendly.

    Recruitment status

We are currently recruiting all classes (except druids) and all specs. However, all exceptional applications will be taken into consideration.

We also welcome social players that fit into the guild.

If you want to apply please visit our website at http://selesnya-conclave.com or contact in game Carinthalas, Carinthamor, Enna, myself or any other member of our guild.

For all questions you might have: my battletag is Samskeyti#1153.

PS. Yes, the guildname is from Magic- The Gathering: Most of us are fans and have played or are playing :)

Today, I didn't manage to get into the raid team because I simply didn't realize it was time to whisper a guildie for an invite, and so they had 10 people and started the raid. I decided to go up to Northrend to find an Unborn Valkyr for one or the other person on my friendslist that was still after one.

After Crystalsong Forest, my path took me to the Storm Peaks. I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be nice to see time-lost again, now that I am absolutely not looking for it?" And, behold, on my way to the second spawnpoint of the Valkyr, he came flying over from the Ulduar spawn.

I switched the UI off and took the screenshots I wanted for a long time: Time-lost flying untagged, alive!

I then thought "tag, tag, hold for someone!" but wasn't sure how, and worried I might oneshot it, and then someone had already come along and killed it. Sorry Relli, sorry Aladur!

    Hello,

    First of all,
I need to update the blog as it is outdated for some posts (it was put together during the Beta for the biggest part of it!). I'll get there eventually.

But, I got a very nice present from Openraid! I took part in one of their contest where they celebrate 200k members and won the first prize, which is a Tuskarr Kite!

A very big thank you for them, and the fantastic work they've been doing since it started. If you ever struggle to find a group for a raid, an achievement, a rare, or you want to be brave and meet people from other servers, give it a go!

But also, over the past 2 years, I've met a lot of players and raidleaders through raids I have joined on Openraid, and who are wonderful people I'd never met otherwise.  Of course, there have also been raids I'd rather forget about  *coughAmbershapercough*, but the good raids let you forget the bad ones :)

    Portent (Ruby)

Portent spawns just like Madexx, in one of four random colours, but he is not a colour changer.
He travels from the very western wall through the entire zone and ends north-west of Mogushan Palace. My map is based on a map done by TheDoomcookie (Petopia Forums), as he goes into phasing when you haven't unlocked the August Celestial dailies.

Portent's tracks are now spawning correctly, no need to follow them backwards anymore!

    Dear readers,

You might have noticed that this blog has been inactive for quite a while now. This was initially, because there was enough information to find most things that this blog pointed out, but also because I was quite busy with other work.
I have stopped playing WoW in November 2013, and I might be back for the release of Warlords of Draenor, but I can't guarantee it. Though the prospect of all these new rare things to find... how can I resist! :)

For now, I still check comments and get rid of spam which seems to creep up more and more, but the most up to date info can certainly be found on Wowhead and the blogs of the friendly people that are listed in the sidebar of this blog.

I wish you a happy hunting, and a lot of great memories in Azeroth!

    Warm wishes,

    Sneaky Sams

    Hello dear blog visitors,

Even though I haven't updated the blog in quite some time, I really appreciate the comments that you post with mostly successful stories. I will update the Voidtalon posts with the newly discovered spawn areas in the next days.

I'm glad that the blog is still useful after all this time and wish you all the best of luck in your rare hunts.
